Marvel fans have a lot to look forward to with the upcoming film Avengers: Doomsday. The movie brings together an enormous cast and combines heroes from across the MCU, including the Avengers, Wakandans, Fantastic Four, New Avengers, and the original X-Men.

All of them will face the villain Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr. Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to hit theaters on December 18, 2026, with its sequel, Secret Wars, coming a year later on December 17, 2027.

Speaking to fans at New York Comic Con, Simu Liu, who plays Shang-Chi, gave an exciting hint about the film. He revealed that his character will have scenes with Professor X, played by Patrick Stewart. “I grew up idolizing Sir Ian McKellen and Sir Patrick Stewart, and now maybe, maybe even do scenes with them at some point,” Liu said, drawing cheers from the audience.

The movie is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, with a screenplay by Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely.

Filming took place from April to September at Pinewood Studios in England, with additional location shoots in Bahrain. The cast also includes Chris Hemsworth, Vanessa Kirby, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, Paul Rudd, Florence Pugh, Tenoch Huerta, Channing Tatum, Pedro Pascal, and many others.

Fans have already gotten small hints about other exciting moments in the film. Alan Cumming accidentally mentioned a fight between Nightcrawler and Mister Fantastic, and Channing Tatum revealed that Gambit will be part of a major fight against Doctor Doom. These hints, combined with Liu’s comments, suggest the movie will be full of crossover action and big team-ups.
