The second season of Sirius the Jaeger still hasn’t been confirmed or canceled yet. The first season aired four years ago and with Sirius the Jaeger being an original anime series, the future is quite uncertain because we don’t know whether there’s more material to work on. Having said all of this, Sirius the Jaeger was a popular and talked-about series, and based on all the known facts, a second season is not impossible. We just don’t know when it could happen.
The rest of this article will bring you all the known and unknown information related to a potential season 2 of Sirius the Jaeger. You’re going to find out about its potential release date, whether there is a trailer, what the story could be about, and much more about this exciting anime series whose future is still somewhat uncertain.
Will Sirius the Jaeger Season 2 happen?
The anime premiered in July 2018. The series was directed by Masahiro Ando and written by Keigo Koyanagi, with animation by P. A. Works. The original character designs were done by Kinu Nishimura, and Mai Matsuura and Souichirou Sako have adapted the designs for animation, in addition to serving as animation directors for the series. The music for the series was composed by Masaru Yokoyama.
Infinite was in charge of producing the anime. Shiho Takeuchi was responsible for the series’ conceptual design. Masahiro Sato was the action animation director, Junichi Higashi and Ayumi Satō were the art directors, and Kazuto Izumida was the cinematographer. The series was edited by Ayumu Takahashi. Mika Sugawara was in charge of the color setting, and Tariki Kiritani was the series animation director. Jin Aketagawa was the series’ sound director.
The opening theme song “Sirius” was performed by Kishida Kyoudan & The Akeboshi Rockets. The ending theme song was “Hoshie”, by Sajou no Hana. The series’ final episode, “The Ark of Sirius”, aired in Japan on September 27, 2018. Licensed by Netflix, the anime was made available on the streaming service on December 21, 2018. What does this tell us? Not much, really. The series was fairly popular, but this information – and that is all we have – doesn’t tell us much about the future of the show, which is a bummer.
As you can see, the future of the Sirius the Jaeger anime is quite uncertain, but not because there’s no interest. The series was fairly popular and we’ll just have to see whether there is enough interest for a continuation to make any proper predictions about the potential continuation of the series. The first season received solid reviews, but we simply don’t know enough to make any predictions on the show’s future.
In any case, the earliest we could see a potential second season is late 2023, but we’d have to get some confirmation on the future during 2022 or easily 2023; 2024 is also a strong possibility. The fans are demanding a new season, but we’ll just have to see how it goes; as far as things stand now, a cancelation has not been confirmed, but we cannot rule it out either.
What could be the plot of Sirius the Jaeger Season 2?
At this moment, we have absolutely no idea about the content of a potential second season o Sirius the Jaeger. Why? Well, as we’ve said, Sirius the Jaeger is an original anime series and is, thus, not based on any pre-published material. This means that the only source of the story is the anime series, so we don’t have anything to work with. This is why we can only bring you a recap of the first season to, roughly, prepare you for what you could expect from a potential second season.
A team of Jaegers follows a group of vampires from China to Japan using Carrier V as cover. A series of crimes begin to occur in the Imperial City that are blamed on the fugitive, Kuratake. However, he is in fact a prisoner of the vampires who are the real perpetrators. Jaeger Yuliy finds Vampire Agatha, and the Jaegers pursue her, but just as Yuliy is about to kill her, he is shot by Vampire Mikhail.
Scientist Hanada Kisuke treats Yuliy’s wound at his mansion until Yuliy recovers and the Jaeger spends time with Hanada’s daughter, Saki. However, Agatha leads a group of vampires in an attack on the mansion seeking to research Hanada’s artificial heart. She bites Hanada, turning him into a vampire before being killed by Yuliy, who then stops Hanada just before he bites her own daughter.
Yuliy chases after the fleeing vampires, but is stopped by Mikhail. After the incident with Dr. Hanada, Yuliy reminisces about her childhood in the remote mountain village of Dogville. He lived peacefully with his family, but vampires attacked the village in search of Sirius’ Ark. They murdered the villagers, including his mother, but Yuliy was saved by his brother Mikhail, who sacrificed his own humanity by becoming a vampire.
Yuliy only survived by unconsciously transforming into a werewolf. Now Yuliy is torn between his loyalty to his brother and his anger at the vampire his brother has become. The Vampires stop supporting the Hyakko Group as they have all the materials they need. Willard checks out weapons manufacturer Alma Import and Export and finds that they are planning a military exercise in Shizuoka to test a new weapon for Major General Kakizaki, head of the Weapons Department.
At the Vampire Headquarters, Yevgraf is unable to convince the Vampire hierarchy that the Ark of Sirius is worth finding. Momosei Naotora leads the Hyakko Party in a raid on the Alma offices looking for Kershner, killing all the employees, but discovers they are humans, not vampires. In Shizuoka, the Alma weapon turns out to be an artificial humanoid weapon that wipes out an entire infantry battalion.
Kakizaki immediately travels back to the imperial city, but due to various coincidences, Yuliy, Dorothea, Ryoko, and Hideomi Iba are also on the same train. Yuliy is reunited with her brother Mikhail, who says that Yuliy must renounce her revenge against vampires, otherwise they will have to fight each other. Iba learns from Kakizaki about the Alma weapon and that it might be on the train to the city.
Meanwhile, Momosei Naotora and the Hyakko group attack the train in search of Kershner. They find the artificial humanoid weapon created by Klarwein, who commands it to kill Naotora. The Jaegers, Philip and Fallon join the train and help fight the Hyakko Party as Iba finds his first vampire after Ryoko kills him.
Meanwhile, Yuliy is attacked by the artificial humanoid weapon, but Mikhail intervenes and kills her just as the train stops. Klarwein complains about Mikhail’s destruction of his artificial humanoid, but Kershner is more concerned with the location of Sirius’ Ark and the extermination of the Jaegers. After Iba finds Jiro Akimoto looking for information, the vampires follow Jiro to his bar and kill him.
Later, a large number of vampires converge on the Naoe family home, greatly outnumbering the Jaegers. In the midst of the battle, Kershner enters and attacks Yuliy, calling him the living Sirius while Mikhail disarms Philip. In the midst of Yuliy and Kershner’s fight, the army intervenes and opens fire on the vampires. Kershner interrupts the combat, ordering Mikhail to kill Yuliy.
Mikhail reveals that Yuliy is Sirius, and that the Ark was taken by his father years ago when he left his village. Kershner tells Yuliy how Professor Willard was responsible for the destruction of Dogville, helping the vampires track down the Ark. Confronted with this information, Yuliy unleashes her bestial nature and viciously kills Kershner with a piece of her own sword.
Yuliy then confronts Willard, furious at his years of disappointment. Later, Willard explains that Yuliy’s father must have taken and hidden the Sirius Bow and that Yevgraf is the one who really wants it. Yevgraf arrives in Sakhalin, site of the ancient civilization of Sirius and suspects the location of the Ark of Sirius. He takes Mikhail to a cave where they find an impenetrable seal, a pool of red boiling liquid at its center.
However, Mikhail is unable to break it and they leave. Meanwhile, Yuliy meets Bishop, a former Jaeger who is also looking for the Ark that lost its staff to the vampires. As they approach the cave, they encounter a hermit who is being attacked by a group of vampire slaves and the vampire twins, Larissa and Tamara. Bishop and Yuliy chase away the vampires, but the hermit refuses to reveal any information about the Ark.
Back in Sakhalin, they meet Ryoko and Iba, who reveals that the hermit is former captain Akasaka Mamoru who, 15 years earlier, was sent to find and acquire the Siruis Ark, but never returned. On a second visit to the hermit’s hut, Yuliy and Iba convince Mamoru to reveal the Ark’s location. The next morning, Bishop and Yuliy set out alone to find the Ark.
In the ruined village of Dogville, Willard explains the nature of Sirius’ Ark to the Jeagers. Using the ancient text, he opens a hidden panel and finds a shrine from which he extracts a small colored orb that can help if the Ark’s seal is broken. Meanwhile, Klarwein attacks Yuliy and Bishop with a hoard of artificial humanoids constructed from the dying vampire slaves.
However, during the battle, an avalanche claims Klarwein along with his creations. Yuliy and Bishop find the entrance to Sirius’ cave, and Yuliy enters the boiling red liquid at its center. He has a vision of the past when Mamoru saved him and Mikhail from a bear and was welcomed into the village by Alexei. Alexei convinced the elder Gustav to allow him to seal the Ark at its Sakhalin origin to prevent it from being used again.
Yuliy meets her father, who says that his soul forever resides within the seal to protect him. However, Yuliy convinces her father to give her the Ark as a tool to allow all races to coexist. When Yuliy and Bishop leave the chamber with the Ark, a small colored orb, they find Ryoko and Iba. Bishop is forced to reveal that he is a British agent and a vampire, but Yuliy agrees to work with him to defeat the vampires.
When Yuliy emerges from the cave system, he is greeted by the vampire twins and Mikhail, who is now controlled by Yevgraf through a blood pact. Mikhail attacks Yuliy and takes the Ark, passing it to twin Larissa. Mikhail slowly regains control of his body from Yevgraf. The brothers eventually reconcile, but Mikhail begins to succumb to the Vampire’s disease.
Meanwhile, Bishop kills Larissa and takes the Ark, but is confronted by Yevgraf. The Vampire takes the Ark and kills him, then escapes to his airship flying above. Yevgraf then swallows the glowing orb, hoping to become the Ark of the From their plane, Fallon and Philip manage to drop Willard onto Yevgraf’s airship and he lowers him enough for Yuliy to jump aboard.
Yuliy confronts Yevgraf, who now plans to be the progenitor of a new generation of vampires, and he transforms into a more fearsome being. Mikhail attacks Yevgraf, while Willard hands Yuliy the counterpart orb from Sirius’ shrine that can control the Ark. Yuliy joins Mikhail in fighting Yevgraf, who begins to degenerate under the Ark’s power, and Mikhail manages to extract him from Yevgraf’s body.
The savage fight continues until Mikhail finally kills Yevgraf, but Mikhail succumbs to his wounds and dies in Yuliy’s arms. Yuliy then leaves with the world chasing him, including the Jaegers. Later, Yuliy and the remaining vampire twin, Tamara, travel to negotiate peace with the vampire elders to achieve reconciliation between the vampires, Sirius, and the humans.
