Sister Act is a comedy movie franchise that premiered in 1992 directed by Emile Ardolino and written by Paul Rudnick. It was one of the most popular comedies of the 90s. The story follows a lounge singer who witnesses a murder and has to go into hiding to save her life. She finds safety in an unusual place- a convent.

There was no surprise when in 1993, a sequel came out called Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit. Synopsis: Deloris Van Cartier (Whoopi Goldberg) after her time at St. Katherine’s convent in San Francisco, made a successful Las Vegas show about her time as a nun. Now Mother Superior (Dame Maggie Smith), along with Sisters Mary Lazarus (Mary Wickes), Mary Patrick (Kathy Najimy), and Mary Robert (Wendy Makkena) teach at St. Francis Academy in San Francisco, and they need Deloris’ help to put the magic back into the Academy’s music class. She decides to return to San Francisco to help her Sister in need. But, she finds this job harder than she expected when she gets a class populated by a bunch of kids who have attitude issues, as they believe that they are destined to become nothing because no one cares about them. Will Deloris be able to perform another miracle, and turn this school around?

Also, in 2020 it was confirmed that Whoopie Goldberg has signed on to return as Delores and that Tyler Perry would be a producer on the movie. But still, there is no release date or any kind of footage, or any new news.
