Disney is continuing its modern tradition to remake famous classic animated movies. We have already got remakes of Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Jungle Book, The Lion King, Lady and the Tramp, and Mulan. We also watched Maleficent and Cruella, two movies which were different takes on the known classics — Sleeping Beauty and 101 Dalmations — but presented through the eyes of the villains.
These live-action remakes proved to be a gold mine for Disney, and it’s no wonder they will continue this tradition. As far as we know, the next remakes that Disney is actively developing are based on 1989’s The Little Mermaid and 1937’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, their first animated classic and the first full-length animated feature ever.
The story of Snow White has numerous, literally numerous adaptations, but Disney’s 1937 animated classic is probably the best known, and it’s no wonder that Disney’s live-action take on this famous story is widely anticipated, especially when we look at the cast. West Side Story star Rachel Zegler is set to play Snow White, and the role of Evil Queen was given to Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot, who is currently one of the most known actresses in modern Hollywood.
Gal Gadot recently shared that she finished filming her parts for the upcoming Disney remake. Gadot didn’t reveal the first look of her character, only an image in which she posed with hair and makeup stylists who are also a part of the movie’s crew. Check the image down below:
The Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs live-action remake’s plot is more or less already known because, come on, we already know what’s going to happen in that movie. The release date is still TBA, but if production is in its closing phase now, it’s not unrealistic to expect the movie in early 2023. The movie is directed by The Amazing Spider-Man director Marc Webb.
