A Video Game Inspired Thriller From Writer-Director Johannes Roberts

RESIDENT EVIL: WELCOME TO RACCOON CITY stars Kaya Scodelario, Hannah John-Kamen, Robbie Amell, Tom Hopper, Avan Jogia, Donal Logue, and Neal McDonough. 

Director Johannes Roberts (47 Meters Down; The Strangers: Prey at Night) brings audiences on a suspenseful journey to find the source of evil ravaging through the small Midwestern town of Raccoon City. Inspired by the acclaimed video game, Resident Evil, this is Roberts’ first adaptation project as a screenwriter.

Resident Evil is a survival horror video game series that started in 1996 with the original video game. In 25 years, 28 video games were released, and the franchise has spread across all kinds of media, including novels, comic books, animated and live-action movies, etc.

Original Resident Evil movie was released in 2002, and Welcome to the Raccoon City is the seventh installment of the film series. Milla Jovovich was the main star of the franchise, but unfortunately, she won’t appear in this reboot. The whole film series grossed over $1.233 billion, despite negative reviews from critics, it became widely popular and many fans are eagerly waiting for this next installment.

Welcome to the Raccoon City will adapt the story from the first two video games, and it will be released on November 24, 2021.
