Filming for Spider-Man: Brand New Day started on August 3, 2025, in Glasgow, Scotland. The production is using the working title Blue Oasis, and Brett Pawlak, who has worked on many of director Destin Daniel Cretton’s previous films, is back as the cinematographer. Originally, filming was supposed to begin earlier in 2025, but the schedule was pushed to fit around Tom Holland’s other projects, including The Odyssey, which he filmed first.

The crew is spending about two weeks shooting in Glasgow city center. Locations like Merchant City, George Square, and Trongate are being dressed to look like New York City. Some big action scenes will also be filmed there. Holland shared that he was excited to be back on location, saying it reminded him of making Spider-Man: Homecoming.

He added that production on No Way Home was mostly on soundstages because of COVID-19, so being out in real locations felt refreshing. “I was glad that fans could see the start of filming with the cast and crew,” Holland told reporters.

Set photos from Glasgow revealed armored vehicles with a red demon logo on them. Bradley Russell of Total Film compared the symbol to the Inner Demons gang from the comics, which is led by Mister Negative, and speculated that the character might appear in the film. Paul Trainer of Glasgow World also noted a reference bust shaped like a rhinoceros head on set, hinting that Rhino could show up.

Filming also took place at Brookwood Cemetery in Surrey, London, on August 7. Soundstage work is planned at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire, England.

A new set leak has fans buzzing even more. It features a poster showing a symbiote, and many believe this hints that Venom, or another symbiote, could appear in the movie. Rumors about Venom joining the MCU have been around for a while.

Last year, the Venom trilogy ended with Venom: The Last Dance, and fans have been speculating about a crossover ever since. Tom Hardy, who plays Venom, said he would be willing to return to the role, and that he would specifically loved to fight Tom Holland’s Spider-Man.

Venom already has a connection to the MCU. Eddie Brock and the symbiote were temporarily transported to another universe where they learned about Spider-Man, the Avengers, and even Thanos before being returned to their own universe. However, Venom left behind a fragment of itself in Spider-Man’s reality, which could explain a potential appearance in Brand New Day.

Fans are excited to see how these characters might interact, especially with hints from the Glasgow set. Between the red demon logos, Rhino busts, and symbiote posters, it looks like Spider-Man: Brand New Day is setting up some big surprises.
