Spider-Man Fans Are Starting #MakeTASM3 Campaign On Social Media
Seems like Marvel fans now have their own equivalent of #RestoreTheSnyderverse. Just like DC fans started demanding from Warner Bros. to restore the shared universe that Zack Snyder originally pitched, now Marvel fans started demanding from Sony to give Andrew Garfield another chance to conclude The Amazing Spider-Man trilogy.
We all know what happened to Zack Snyder’s initial plans for DCEU. And although fans managed to get his Justice League cut, that still isn’t enough, now fans are asking WB to let Snyder complete his vision, which included two more Justice League movies. In that other comic book house, you also know how it all went down. Andrew Garfield played Peter Parker/Spider-Man in 2012’s The Amazing Spider-Man, and the sequel followed in 2014. Unfortunately, following the sequel’s critical and commercial failure, plans for the third movie were scrapped and Sony decided to let Disney introduce Spider-Man in Marvel Cinematic Universe, with Tom Holland playing the web-slinger.
Holland just recently completed his Spider-Man Home trilogy with Spider-Man: No Way Home, in which Andrew Garfield reprised the role of Spider-Man from Marc Webb’s duology thanks to the concept of the Multiverse that was introduced in the movie. And even though producers Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal announced that the development of Spider-Man 4 with Holland already started, seeing Garfield again in No Way Home reminded fans how he never got a chance to complete his own trilogy.
Some rumors are saying that Marvel still has plans with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, two actors who played the web-crawler before Holland, but that wasn’t confirmed. One thing we can agree on is that Garfield definitely deserves his third solo movie. And with the concept of the Multiverse now introduced in MCU, who knows what both Disney and Sony are planning for the future. We only hope that previous Spider-Man actors are a part of that future.
