Spider-Man: No Way Home is about to break some huge records. The third solo movie starring Tom Holland as the web-slinger already grossed $35 million thanks to pre-sales. Only Avengers: Endgame made more, around $40 million. Yep, No Way Home managed to beat other Disney’s super successful commercial movies like Avengers: Infinity War and Star Wars sequel trilogy.

No Way Home’s success is even more impressive if we take into consideration that the movie will be released while the pandemic of COVID-19 is still out there. And pre-sales of the movie managed to crash several cinema websites, which is something we haven’t seen since tickets for Avengers: Endgame went out on pre-sale. We still remember that quite well, and this one isn’t much different.

Spider-Man: No Way Home has already beaten a world record for the most-watched trailer, and who knows what records are about to fall once the movie hits theaters later this month. Numbers will definitely be quite impressive, and who knows how would that look if it wasn’t for the pandemic.

No Way Home follows Peter Parker who wants to make things right after his secret identity was revealed to the world at the end of Spider-Man: Far From Home. Tom Holland is playing a titular character in his sixth MCU appearance. Benedict Cumberbatch also returns as Doctor Strange, and the movie will set up his own upcoming movie Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The fourth Spider-Man movie with Tom Holland is already in development.

Directed by Jon Watts, the movie is also starring Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Jon Favreau, Marisa Tomei, J. B. Smoove, Benedict Wong, Jamie Foxx, Alfred Molina, Willem Dafoe, Thomas Haden Church, and Rhys Ifans. The movie will hit theaters on December 17, 2021.
