‘Spider-Noir’ Drops Stunning First Photos of Nicolas Cage’s Dark Marvel Hero
Prime Video has shared the first official images from its upcoming series Spider-Noir, offering a look at Nicolas Cage in the lead role. The photos were released by the streamer as part of early promotion for the show.
The project marks Cage’s first time leading a television series. He plays Ben Reilly, a private investigator living in New York during the 1930s. According to details released by Prime Video, the story follows a man who once lived a very different life as the city’s only superhero. After a personal tragedy pushed him away from that identity, he now lives as a struggling detective. A new case forces him to face his past and return to the role he left behind.

The newly released images also introduce the main supporting characters. Lamorne Morris appears as Robbie Robertson, a journalist trying to succeed in a difficult era while staying loyal to Ben. Li Jun Li plays Cat Hardy, a nightclub performer with a complicated life behind the scenes. Karen Rodriguez portrays Janet Smart, Ben’s determined secretary who helps keep his business running and is not afraid to speak honestly.

Prime Video confirmed that the cast also includes Abraham Popoola, Jack Huston, and Brendan Gleeson. A long list of guest stars will appear throughout the series.
Spider-Noir is being produced by Sony Pictures Television for MGM+ and Prime Video. Harry Bradbeer directed the first two episodes and also serves as an executive producer. The show was developed by Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot with Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal, who previously worked on Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Nicolas Cage is also part of the executive producing team.
The series will launch worldwide this spring. It will first air in the United States on MGM+ before becoming available globally on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories.
This project feels like a bold step for superhero shows because the story takes place in a very different time period and focuses on a darker tone. It could attract both comic fans and viewers who enjoy crime dramas. What do you think about Nicolas Cage leading Spider-Noir and the idea of a noir-style superhero series?
