While we are all already thinking about the upcoming summer and all the summer hits that we’re gonna watch this year, Apple TV+ revealed first look images on Spirited, the Christmas Carol musical remake starring Ryan Reynolds and Will Ferrell.

Described as the modern musical retelling of famous Charles Dickens’ 1843 novella A Christmas Carol, Spirited features Ryan Reynolds as Ebeneezer Scrooge, the equally famous main character who is about to meet three ghosts who are about to show him the true meaning of Christmas. Will Ferrell will play The Ghost of Christmas Present. The movie is also starring Sunita Mani as The Ghost of Christmas Past, as well as Octavia Spencer, Aimee Carrero, Joe Tippett, Marlow Barkley, and Jen Tullock.

The first images are giving the best look yet at two main actors since Ryan Reynolds first teased with a film last Holiday Season. The images are featuring both Reynolds and Ferrell’s characters, as well as the first look at Octavia Spencer. From what we can see, there will be a lot of music, a lot of dancing and a lot of laughs.

Written and directed by Sean Anders and John Morris, Spirited still has no official release date, but it’s been announced it will be released by the end of this year. Considering the movie’s setting, we bet it’s November or early December.

Ryan Reynolds starred last year in Netflix’s blockbuster Red Notice alongside Dwayne Johnson and Gal Gadot, as well as Free Guy and Hitman’s Wife Bodyguard with Salma Hayek and Samuel L. Jackson. Reynolds announced last year that he’s taking a small break from acting, but he’s still working on his upcoming projects, out of which the most anticipated one is Deadpool 3, as well as sequels to Red Notice and Free Guy.
