Spencer Lofranco, the Canadian actor who appeared alongside John Travolta in the 2018 film Gotti, has died at the age of 33. The news was shared by his brother, Santino Lofranco, on Instagram on Thursday, November 20, revealing that Spencer passed away on Tuesday, November 18.

“To the legend @roccowinning. My brother. You lived a life only some could dream of,” Santino wrote alongside photos of Spencer from childhood and recent years. “You changed people lives, and now you are with God. I will always love you and miss you Bear. RIP. October 18, 1992 – November 18, 2025.”

According to TMZ, authorities in British Columbia, Canada, are investigating the circumstances of Spencer’s death.

Born in Toronto, Spencer Lofranco built a career in film between 2013 and 2018. His credits include the war drama Unbroken (2014), starring Angelina Jolie, and Gotti (2018), where he played Travolta’s onscreen son in the biographical story of New York mob boss John Gotti.

Spencer decided to pursue acting at 17, despite his father’s hopes that he would focus on hockey or law. He trained at the New York Film Academy for a year before earning a role in Jamesy Boy (2014). His first film credit was At Middleton (2013), and he later appeared in Dixieland (2015), Home (2015), and King Cobra (2016).

Reflecting on his early career, Spencer told Interview magazine in 2014, “Growing up, Angelina Jolie was my dream girl. Now I’m going to shoot a movie with her. It’s crazy. I tell people and they’re like, ‘Yeah… okay.’ They don’t even believe me.”

Spencer Lofranco’s sudden passing is a tragic loss for the film community. He had a promising career with notable roles and a memorable screen presence.
