Star Trek: Picard Will End With Season 3

While Star Trek fans are waiting for the second season of the beloved series Star Trek: Picard, one of the bad news is that the series is now set to end after its third season, as the main star Patrick Stewart recently confirmed.
Star Trek: Picard premiered in January of 2020, and it featured the long-awaited return of Patrick Stewart as Jean-Luc Picard, the fan-favorite character that Stwart played during the late ’80s and ’90s. Star Trek: Picard is the follow-up of Star Trek: The New Generation and Star Trek: Nemesis, and it followed Picard in the next chapter of his life. The series was well-reviewed by fans, and the second season was announced even before the series premiered.
The second season is set to premiere next March on Paramount+ after production met some delays because of the pandemic. While fans are waiting for the second season, the previously announced third season is now in production, and once it wraps, that’ll be it for Picard.
Although this may cause sadness among Star Trek fans, maybe it’s a good thing we found this out so early because now we can prepare for the beginning of the end in season 2, and the imminent end in season 3, whenever that season arrives. Hopefully, we won’t need to wait two more years for that season as well. There’s also a chance that we might see some characters from Picard returning in future Star Trek projects, including Picard himself, who knows.
“Season two of Star Trek: Picard takes the legendary Jean-Luc Picard and his crew on a bold and exciting new journey: into the past. Picard must enlist friends both old and new to confront the perils of 21st century Earth in a desperate race against time to save the galaxy’s future – and face the ultimate trial from one of his greatest foes.” Star Trek: Picard, Season 2, officialy synopsis
The second season of Star Trek: Picard is set to premiere on Thursday, March 3 on Paramount+.
