‘Star Wars: Skeleton Crew’ – Plot, Cast, Release Date, and All the Latest Details

‘Star Wars: Skeleton Crew’ is a new live-action series set to broaden the Star Wars universe. It’s set for a 2024 debut on Disney+ and comes from creators Jon Watts and Christopher Ford.
With a big release update, we’re breaking down all we know about the show in this guide.
The series will introduce a group of presumably force-sensitive children
The series will track a group of youngsters, possibly Force-sensitive, who must embark on a journey to find their way back to their home planet. They became lost after a peculiar discovery. Jude Law’s character is expected to accompany the children. He discovers them and leads them on their adventure, acting as both a guardian and mentor to the youngest members.
The tale will share many parallels with beloved children’s classics like ‘The Goonies’ but will be enjoyable for both kids and adults. It will have a similar dynamic to ‘The Mandalorian,’ where an adult (Din Djarin) cares for a child (Grogu).
A large portion of the cast has been unveiled, but specific details are still forthcoming
As mentioned, Jude Law will play an unnamed Force user. While other actors in the cast have been announced, their specific roles remain undisclosed. Here’s the list:
- Jude Law as a Force-user
- Ryan Kiera Armstrong
- Robert Timothy Smith
- Ravi Cabot-Conyers
- Kyriana Kratter
- Tunde Adebimpe
- Kerry Condon
- Jaleel White
The show is set to premiere in winter this year
The show doesn’t have an exact release date yet, but it’s set to come out in December 2024. It’ll consist of 8 episodes and will premiere on Disney+, likely one episode per week.
Originally announced at the Star Wars Celebration in May 2022 for a 2023 release, the series was expected to debut in November or December. However, by late 2023, it was confirmed for a 2024 release. While a filing for the first episode suggested a January 2024 release, that didn’t happen.
