Star Wars fans just got exciting news out of Celebration Japan 2025. Lucasfilm confirmed that Star Wars: Visions will return this fall with its third volume on Disney+.

The new season launches October 29 and, like the first two, it will feature nine original stories from different anime studios.

Alongside the announcement, Lucasfilm also revealed a spinoff series called Star Wars: Visions Presents, The Ninth Jedi, which will continue the story of Kara.

During the event, the creative teams behind the new season were introduced, and details about each short were shared. The lineup brings together well-known studios including WIT Studio, TRIGGER, Kinema Citrus, David Production, and more. Each one is tackling a completely different story, with themes ranging from bounty hunters and smugglers to Jedi struggling with the Dark Side.

One of the most talked-about returns is Production I.G’s continuation of “The Ninth Jedi,” with Kara once again at the center of the story. Other episodes will explore desperate smugglers on the run, mysterious spiritual trials, rebels standing against the Empire, and personal battles fought within the mind of an Imperial soldier. Together, the nine shorts promise a mix of action, emotion, and new perspectives on the galaxy.

Fans at the convention also got a preview reel. It featured both Japanese and English voice actors. The Japanese cast includes Ami Maeshima, Yasuko Hatori, Takako Honda, Yume Miyamoto, Makoto Koichi, and Chinatsu Akasaki.

On the English side, the voices include George Takei, Sonoya Mizuno, Nick Kishiyama, Lincoln Bonilla, Jimmie Yamaguchi, Mike Bodie, and Stephanie Hsu.

Lucasfilm is producing Star Wars: Visions Volume 3, with James Waugh, Josh Rimes, Jacqui Lopez, and Justin Leach serving as executive producers. Flannery Huntley and Kanako Shirasaki are producing.

The new season will drop just in time for fans looking for something fresh in the Star Wars universe. With each studio bringing its own unique style and story, this anthology once again shows how flexible and creative the franchise can be.

It’s great to see Lucasfilm continuing to work with anime studios and letting them tell original stories in the Star Wars universe. The mix of voices and styles keeps things interesting and unpredictable. Personally, I’m curious to see how the return of “The Ninth Jedi” plays out. What about you? Which studio or story are you most excited for? Let us know in the comments.
