Steven Seagal’s Moscow Mansion Hits Market at Shocking Price
Steven Seagal is making headlines again, but not for a new action movie. The Hollywood star, who has become known for his close ties to Vladimir Putin, is trying to sell his lavish Moscow mansion for a jaw-dropping price that has experts shaking their heads.
The property, located in Rublyovka, one of Russia’s most exclusive neighborhoods, is listed at £6.6 million. That’s nearly seven times what local real estate agents say it’s actually worth. The 73-year-old actor bought the home in 2018, shortly after he was named a special representative for Russia’s Foreign Ministry.
The mansion spans 5,382 square feet and sits just over a mile from Putin’s Novo-Ogaryovo palace. Inside, gold trim dominates the design, from pillars to curtains to side drawers. The house includes three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a private cinema, a wine room, and even a study with a treadmill right in the middle of the floor. The cinema seats ten people, and like the rest of the house, it’s lined in gold.
Despite the flashy listing, local experts doubt the price is realistic. Estate agent Natalia Pereskokova told Russian news sources that the price looks image-driven rather than market-based and predicted that the final sale would involve serious negotiations. She valued the property at just £950,000, the same amount Seagal reportedly paid for it originally. Analysts blame the steep asking price on a mix of celebrity ego, Russia’s struggling economy, and falling demand for luxury real estate amid international sanctions.
Seagal’s career in Hollywood has largely slowed down. Since receiving Russian citizenship in 2016, he has become a fixture in pro-Putin media and even joined the political party “A Just Russia — For Truth” in 2021. But the actor hasn’t completely left the entertainment world. He starred in and produced an independent action film, “Beyond the Law,” shot across Eastern Europe and Asia.
In Moscow, Seagal continues to teach Aikido and run martial arts centers, often holding masterclasses for local youth. His Rublyovka mansion also features a guest house with a sauna, bath complex, and barbecue gazebo. It sits on nearly half an acre, but the combination of its gold-heavy interior and inflated asking price has left many questioning whether it’s worth the millions.
The property’s sale has sparked speculation about Seagal’s future plans. Some wonder if he intends to stay in Russia or consider relocating, though returning to the U.S. seems unlikely given his political ties.
Do you think Steven Seagal’s Moscow mansion is a one-of-a-kind celebrity estate worth the sky-high price, or is the actor simply out of touch with reality? Share your thoughts in the comments.
