Stranger Things 4: David Harbour Teases New Villain

After almost three years on hiatus, one of Netflix’s most known series — Stranger Things — will finally returns later this month with its long-anticipated Season 4. Netflix already released a lot of information and stuff to make us even more excited about the forthcoming season, and the official trailer also gave us the first glimpse at a new villain, a terrifying creature known as Vecna.

The series star David Harbour recently opened up about the villain of the forthcoming season. Harbour revealed that Vecna is an antagonist that this series needed, but he also said that his character Jim Hopper won’t meet Vecna face-to-face since his character has another storyline to deal with. You can check the whole statement below:

“Vecna is a psychological horror that I don’t think we’ve really seen. The Upside Down has been this wild west world where there are creatures running around, there’s violence, but we’ve never seen something as calculatedly psychologically evil as this. That’s exciting because he is a true big bad that we’ve needed in the series. […] I don’t directly deal with [Vecna], my storyline’s a little different, but there’s a Demogorgon in a Russian prison that I got to deal with. It’s pretty terrifying.” — David Harbour for Variety

In this most vulnerable time, a new and horrifying supernatural threat surfaces, presenting a gruesome mystery that, if solved, might finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down.” — Stranger Things 4, official synopsis

Stranger Things 4 will drop on Netflix in two parts. The first one is set for May 27, 2022, and the second one will premiere five weeks later on July 1, 2022.
