Netflix has released a new trailer for the fifth and final season of Stranger Things, giving fans a first look at the last chapter of the popular sci-fi horror series.

The season, officially called Stranger Things 5, will be released on Netflix in three parts at the end of this year. The first four episodes are set for November 26, followed by three more on December 25, and the series finale will drop on December 31.

The Duffer Brothers, creators of the series, return to produce the season along with Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen.

Most of the main cast is back, including Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, Priah Ferguson, Brett Gelman, Cara Buono, and Jamie Campbell Bower. Amybeth McNulty, who appeared as a guest in the previous season, has been promoted to the main cast. Newcomers Nell Fisher, Jake Connelly, Alex Breaux, and Linda Hamilton also join the lineup.

Set in 1987, the story picks up after the events of season four. The group is trying to stop Vecna after the Rifts opened in Hawkins. Their mission becomes more dangerous when the military arrives and starts hunting Eleven. The anniversary of Will Byers’ disappearance adds extra tension as the friends face one last deadly threat.

The season had its world premiere in Los Angeles on November 6, 2025. Fans will also get a chance to see the finale in theaters in the U.S. and Canada until January 1, 2026. Originally, it was reported that the final episode would not have a theatrical release to focus on streaming viewers. However, Ross Duffer revealed that the theater plan had been in the works for about a year.
