‘Stranger Things’ Season 5 Releases New Featurette Promises Biggest Action and Visuals Yet

Stranger Things is almost at the finish line. Netflix has confirmed that the fifth and final season of the hit series will premiere on November 26, and according to creators Matt and Ross Duffer, it will be the biggest season yet.

In a new featurette released on September 24, the Duffer Brothers teased what fans can expect from the ending.

They promised more action, more special effects, and the highest stakes the show has ever had. The short video also showed new glimpses of the fight against Vecna, played by Jamie Campbell Bower.

Viewers saw Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) holding a walkie-talkie outside a house wrapped in Upside Down vines, and Murray (Brett Gelman) behind the wheel of a truck with Robin (Maya Hawke) by his side.

The cast backed up the Duffers’ promises. Finn Wolfhard explained, “It’s the highest stakes the show has ever been,” while Millie Bobby Brown added, “Everybody is really put into the thick of it. No one is sitting back on a walkie-talkie.”

Even though most of the featurette focused on the action, it also gave fans a dose of nostalgia by showing funny and lighthearted moments from earlier seasons, including the kids dressed as Ghostbusters and rolling dice during a Dungeons & Dragons game. At the same time, it remembered characters who didn’t make it, like Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn) and Billy Hargrove (Dacre Montgomery).

Winona Ryder, who has been part of the show since the beginning, reflected on how far the young cast has come. “I got to watch these kids grow, which is the biggest gift that this show has given me,” she said. Many fans have grown up alongside the cast since Stranger Things first aired in 2016.

Season 5 will be released in parts. The first four episodes arrive on November 26 at 5 p.m. PT. Three more episodes will drop on Christmas Day, and the final chapter of the series is set for release on New Year’s Eve.
