The movie also has exciting news for music fans. Ramin Djawadi, known for his work on Game of Thrones, is composing the score for Supergirl. This adds even more excitement to a movie that is already getting a lot of attention from DC fans.

The film is directed by Craig Gillespie and written by Ana Nogueira. It stars Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El, also known as Supergirl, along with Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, Emily Beecham, and Jason Momoa.

The story follows Supergirl as she travels across the galaxy on a dangerous quest for revenge. James Gunn and Peter Safran of DC Studios are producing the movie.

Supergirl is scheduled to be released by Warner Bros. Pictures in the United States on June 26, 2026. It will be part of DC Universe’s first chapter, called Chapter One: Gods and Monsters.

The movie’s story follows Kara Zor-El as she celebrates her 21st birthday by traveling across the galaxy with her dog, Krypto. Along the way, she meets a young girl named Ruthye Marye Knoll. After a tragic event, Kara goes on a violent quest for revenge.

Milly Alcock plays Kara Zor-El, who grew up on a piece of the destroyed planet Krypton. She watched everyone around her die, making her a tougher and more jaded hero than Superman, who was raised on Earth. According to producer James Gunn, she is a “pixie-ish, but very attitudinal character.”
