‘Supergirl’ Teaser Shocks Fans With Surprise Superman Cameo by David Corenswet
A brand-new trailer for Supergirl has just dropped, giving fans their first real look at the upcoming DC Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures film. The movie, directed by Craig Gillespie, is set to hit theaters and IMAX across the United States this summer. Milly Alcock returns as Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl, following her brief appearance in 2025’s Superman directed by James Gunn, cementing her role in the DC Universe.
The trailer kicks off with Supergirl traveling off-world to celebrate her 21st birthday. But things quickly take a dangerous turn. She becomes entangled in a high-stakes revenge mission involving the villain Krem of the Yellow Hills, played by Matthias Schoenaerts, and a mysterious girl named Ruthye Marye Knoll, portrayed by Eve Ridley.
The film’s cast also includes David Krumholtz as Zor-El, Emily Beecham as Alura In-Ze, Jason Momoa as Lobo, and Ferdinand Kingsley as Elias Knoll. According to the official synopsis, “When an unexpected and ruthless adversary strikes too close to home, Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl, reluctantly joins forces with an unlikely companion on an epic, interstellar journey of vengeance and justice.”

Supergirl is based on the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow miniseries by Tom King and Bilquis Evely. The comic’s story focuses on Kara Zor-El, a young Kryptonian struggling with the weight of Superman’s shadow.
