‘Supergirl’ Trailer Description Leaks Online Before CCXP
Fans are buzzing online about the upcoming Supergirl film as rumors of the first trailer surface ahead of CCXP in São Paulo, Brazil, which runs from December 4–7.
Several DC-related fansites say they have received details of the teaser from early access reviewers.
According to @fandompulse, @BeyondReporter, and similar social media accounts, the trailer is said to open with a humorous moment featuring Krypto the Superdog. “We see Krypto the Superdog casually lifting his leg to pee on a space rock. The camera pans to Kara (Supergirl), who is waking up looking disheveled, groggy, and clearly nursing a massive hangover,” the leak reportedly says.
The energy then shifts when a Blondie track plays, leading into fast-paced action scenes. Kara is seen blasting through space, punching alien enemies, and flying at high speed. The lea adds, “The vibe is distinct from Superman—it’s grittier, louder, and colorful, focusing on a Supergirl who is ready to fight.”

Supergirl is directed by Craig Gillespie and written by Ana Nogueira. Milly Alcock stars as Kara Zor-El / Supergirl, joined by Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, and Emily Beecham. The film follows Supergirl as she travels across the galaxy on a quest for revenge. It is produced by James Gunn and Peter Safran of DC Studios.
The standalone Supergirl film has been in development since August 2018 as part of the DC Extended Universe.
The character first appeared on screen in 2023’s The Flash, played by Sasha Calle. When Gunn and Safran became co-CEOs of DC Studios in October 2022, plans for the film were reworked. The new project was officially announced in January 2023 as an adaptation of the 2021–22 comic series Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow by Tom King and Bilquis Evely. Nogueira joined as the writer by November 2023, Alcock was cast in January 2024, and Gillespie came on board in May 2024.
Filming took place from January to May at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, London, and in Scotland.
Supergirl is set to be released by Warner Bros. Pictures in the United States on June 26, 2026. The film will be part of the DC Universe’s Chapter One: Gods and Monsters.
