She admitted that if something truly intimidates her, it usually becomes the very thing she feels compelled to tackle. To inhabit the role of the 1990s sports icon, she underwent a massive physical metamorphosis and insisted on performing her own stunts in the ring. The film follows Martin’s rise to fame and her personal struggles, showcasing a grittier side of Sweeney that fans haven’t seen before.

Beyond the boxing ring, she has had a busy year with the release of the psychological thriller The Housemaid, directed by Paul Feig^.
