Sydney Sweeney is speaking openly again about filming intimate scenes, and this time she says it really doesn’t make her nervous at all.

In an interview with W Magazine, she explained that even though she gets “really bad stage fright” in other situations like live shows or theater, acting in nude or sex scenes feels completely different to her.

“I don’t get nervous,” she said. “I think that the female body is a very powerful thing. And I’m telling my character’s story, so I owe it to them to tell it well and to do what needs to be done.”

Sweeney has already done this kind of work in projects like Euphoria and The Voyeurs, where she appeared nude on screen. She made it clear that for her, these scenes are about the story and the character, not just the shock factor.

She also talked before, in an interview with The Independent, about how she handled those scenes carefully. She said she discussed and agreed on certain moments of nudity with the show’s creator Sam Levinson.

Even though she stands by her work, she admitted that it hasn’t always been easy dealing with how people react. She felt that her performance in Euphoria didn’t get the attention it deserved because of the nudity.

“I’m very proud of my work in ‘Euphoria.’ I thought it was a great performance. But no one talks about it because I got naked,” she said in that earlier interview.

She added that there is still a double standard in the industry. “When a guy has a s** scene or shows his body, he still wins awards and gets praise. But the moment a girl does it, it’s completely different.”

More recently, Sweeney has also been getting attention for how far she goes for her roles. She gained around 30 pounds and trained intensely to play boxer Christy Martin in a recently released biopic. She described the process as tough but exciting, saying her body changed a lot and she became very strong.

At the same time, she has had to deal with online criticism about her appearance. She responded by posting a video on social media showing both the negative comments and her intense training routine.

Overall, Sweeney keeps coming back to the same idea. For her, acting is about commitment to the role, and she is willing to do what it takes to tell the story the right way.
