Sydney Sweeney Reveals Whether She Has Had Any Plastic Surgery Or Tattoos
Sydney Sweeney stars as the legendary boxer Christy Martin in the upcoming sports drama film, Christy. The movie tells the story of Martin’s journey from rising to fame as one of America’s top female boxers in the 1990s to surviving her husband’s attempt to kill her in 2010.
Christy is directed by David Michôd and written by Michôd and Mirrah Foulkes. The film had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 5, and it is set to hit theaters on November 7, through Black Bear Pictures.
Sweeney underwent a dramatic transformation for the movie, which often drew unwanted attention from fans. Some people directed rude comments at her, claiming she had gained weight and stopped taking care of herself. Sweeney completely debunked these claims, saying she was in the best shape of her life, thanks largely to her rigorous training for the biopic.
To promote the movie, Sydney Sweeney spoke with Variety and shared some personal details about herself.
Lately, people online have been closely looking at her photos to see if she has had cosmetic work done. Sweeney was very clear about it. “I’ve never gotten anything done. I’m absolutely terrified of needles. No tattoos. Nothing. I’m going to age gracefully,” she said.
She also talked about how online gossip can be silly. “It’s really funny. I’ll see things online like ‘comparison pictures.’ I’m like, ‘I’m 12 in that photo. Of course I’m going to look different. I have makeup on now and I’m 15 years older,’” Sweeney explained.
Even though she gets a lot of attention, Sweeney said she stays in control of her image. “Being an actress, it’s a lot harder to stand in the room and demand your worth and for people to look at you and value you,” she said. “I have to remind myself like, ‘Hey, Syd, you’re actually powerful. Stand up a little taller.’”
Through her role in Christy and her own words, Sweeney is showing that she is confident, strong, and ready to take charge of both her career and her life.
