Taylor Swift shocked her Eras Tour crew with massive bonuses, as revealed in her Disney+ docuseries “The End of an Era.”

The behind-the-scenes series captures Swift personally handing out cash to dancers, musicians, and crew members who helped make her tour one of the most successful in history.

The Eras Tour spanned 149 shows in 21 countries and became the first tour ever to gross over $2 billion. In episode two, titled “Magic in the Eras,” Swift explains why giving bonuses is so important to her. “Bonus day is so important because setting a precedent with the Eras Tour is really important to me. Because people who work on the road, if the tour grosses more, they get more of a bonus,” she said. “These people just work so hard, and they are the best at what they do.”

Swift also hand-wrote notes for each bonus to make her appreciation feel personal. “It feels like Christmas morning when you finally get to say thank you,” she said, noting that many crew members had been away from family for months.

In the docuseries, dancers can be seen reacting with shock as the bonus amounts are revealed. Although the numbers are censored on camera, reports say Swift distributed a total of $197 million to her team, covering everyone from choreographers and riggers to caterers and venue security.

Michael Scherkenbach, CEO of one of the tour’s trucking companies, said each driver received $100,000 and a handwritten note from Swift. “The typical amount is $5,000 to $10,000 each,” he told CNN. “So this large amount is unbelievable.”

Swift praised her team for handling grueling show schedules and adjusting to new choreography, setlist changes, and extra performances. “The endurance you’ve shown, but the spirit you’ve shown, how much you’ve given to these crowds — that gives to me every single night,” she told her dancers.

The Eras Tour’s massive success also boosted Swift’s personal net worth into the billions, largely thanks to her musical catalog. Earlier in 2025, she reportedly spent $360 million to acquire the rights to her back catalog, saying, “My fans are why I was able to get my music back.”

It’s clear that Swift values her team as much as her fans, rewarding their hard work in ways few artists do. Her generosity shows how a superstar can acknowledge the effort behind the scenes while making a historic tour even more memorable.
