The dedication follows a heartbreaking twist in the episode’s final moments, when Rebecca reveals what happened to a beloved character after the team’s victory. According to Meaww, the tribute card appeared with Kingfisher’s song “Oh Love”. The moment left many viewers doubly emotional.

Deadline reported that the timing was deliberate. According to Deadline, no season 4 storylines changed after Head’s death, and there were no formal plans for him to return. Producers felt Rupert’s two-episode arc in episodes 8 and 9 made the end of the penultimate episode the most fitting place for the card.
That explanation solves a small mystery for fans who wondered why the show waited. Rupert had his moment in the spotlight across those 2 installments, and the tribute closed that chapter. The choice also keeps the final episode free to wrap up the season’s main story.
The dedication brought Rupert’s arc back into focus.
