The Apothecary Diaries & Raku Spa Launch New Merch and Treats Collaboration
A popular anime and light novel series, The Apothecary Diaries, is joining forces with Raku Spa for a special event in Japan. From May 22 to June 17, spa visitors can enjoy a unique experience inspired by the show’s characters and world. This collaboration aims to give fans a relaxing and immersive day filled with themed activities and exclusive merchandise.
At participating Raku Spa locations, guests can book one of five specially designed rooms. Each room features artwork of characters like Maomao and Jinshi, along with augmented reality photo areas for fun snapshots. The spa will also play new voice recordings of the characters, adding to the atmosphere. Visitors will receive a random bath towel as a keepsake and can purchase additional event-exclusive items.
Food and drinks inspired by the series will be available, such as a honey-flavored chicken dish tied to Jinshi and a green parfait based on Maomao. These themed menu items offer fans a chance to connect with the series while enjoying their spa day.
The Apothecary Diaries, originally a light novel by Natsu Hyuuga with illustrations by Touko Shino, has gained a strong following. Its anime adaptation, led by chief director Norihiro Naganuma and director Akinori Fudesaka, is produced by TOHO animation STUDIO and OLM. The story’s mix of mystery and historical drama has made it a hit, and this spa event brings its charm to life in a new way.
This collaboration is a smart way to engage fans by blending relaxation with the world of The Apothecary Diaries. It shows how anime can extend beyond the screen to create memorable real-world experiences.
However, the event’s limited run and location might disappoint international fans who can’t attend. What do you think about themed events like this? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
