‘The Catch’ Star Emma Stone Crashes Druski’s ‘SNL’ Monologue and Shoots Down His Love Interest Claim
Druski’s road to ‘Saturday Night Live’ didn’t go through improv theaters or a traditional comedy career, and his hosting debut was historic before he told a single joke. The comedian kicked off his first-ever monologue by acknowledging that his appearance marked the first time an online content creator hosted the show. The comedian, whose real name is Drew Desbordes, also had a famous friend waiting backstage.
He opened by addressing his reputation. Following his viral sketches, Druski noted during his monologue that some people say they “only know me as a white woman.” He said the show had given him only a few rules: no cussing and no “whiteface,” and he joked that he couldn’t promise to follow the second one.
Then came the surprise guest. Calling himself living proof that you can bet on yourself and make your dreams come true, Druski told the crowd he had just finished filming his first-ever movie with Emma Stone, and that she was there. The Oscar winner then walked onstage, and the two talked about working on ‘The Catch’ together.
Druski quickly made a bold claim. He told the audience he was playing Stone’s love interest in their new movie, and Stone gently corrected him. “I think you might have misread that in those scenes, because we weren’t love interests in the film,” said Stone.

She kept the joke going. “But now it is starting to make more sense why you kept looking at me like that for all those scenes,” she added. Druski said that was probably why they never kissed, and promised they’d fix that if there’s ever a part 2.
The bit ended with one more joke. He said he loved her in ‘Bugonia’, and when she said, “Really?” he joked, “No, I just wanted to be the first Black guy to say it.” One fan on X summed it up by saying the bit of casting himself as her love interest and getting corrected was the whole Druski act in a nutshell.
Dave Chappelle and Chris Rock pulled up to support Druski hosting SNL for his first time📍 surprise appearances also by Michael B Jordan, Walton Goggins, Austin Butler, Emma Stone and James Talarico onstage during goodbyes tonight #SaturdayNightLive https://t.co/XqYI9izdJn

The cameo also promoted the pair’s upcoming film. Druski and Stone are set to appear in Universal Pictures’ rom-com ‘The Catch’, directed by Dave McCary, Stone’s husband, who was a segment director on ‘SNL’ in the 2010s. The movie hits theaters on May 21, 2027.
Stone also has a long history with the show. Deadline noted that she belongs to the show’s Five-Timers Club, having hosted 5 times herself. Her appearance gave Druski some support from someone who knows the stage well.
The rest of the episode let Druski lean into his online comedy. In one sketch, he transformed into Elizabeth Holmes, prosthetics and all, in a spoof of the documentary ‘You Can See Everything’. That sketch delivered on the whiteface joke he’d made earlier in the monologue.

Not everyone was sure about the booking beforehand. The Strokes returned as a musical guest for a fifth performance, and one viewer wrote on X that they were far more excited for the band than for Druski. Another fan praised his path, noting that Hollywood used to discover comedians, but Druski built his audience first and made Hollywood come to him.
His career is growing fast. Druski recently signed a deal with Netflix and set up a church comedy, ‘Collect & Praise’. With ‘The Catch’ coming next spring, his ‘SNL’ debut looks like the start of a much bigger run.
Did Emma Stone's surprise appearance make Druski's SNL monologue even funnier?
