The Drifter Disguise Just Made a Chilling Comeback on the Set of ‘The Batman Part II’
Winter has arrived in Gotham City, and so has Bruce Wayne’s favorite disguise. As Matt Reeves pushes forward with production on his long awaited sequel, fans have spent the summer piecing together plot clues from grainy set photos and shaky phone footage leaking out of England. The mood around the project has shifted from casting speculation to genuine on set intel, and the latest clip has given the fandom something concrete to chew on.
Filming has reportedly moved from the Birkenhead Tunnel to the Silver Jubilee Bridge in Runcorn as production expands beyond its Liverpool base. That shift lines up with the timing of a new video making the rounds this week. The account DC Film News shared footage credited to a user known as LiverpoolGotham, showing Bruce Wayne back in his ‘Drifter’ getup, the low key civilian disguise he uses to move through Gotham unnoticed.
The new footage shows fake snow laid across a bridge, with an ambulance crossing it while the incognito Batman follows or chases it down. The clip appears to capture the Drifter trailing that ambulance near the Silver Jubilee Bridge, offering one of the clearest looks yet at how Reeves plans to use the identity within the sequel’s story. It is a small moment, but for a production that has kept its plot details locked down, any glimpse of Bruce in motion counts as a big deal.
Unlike the Batsuit, the Drifter persona lets Bruce blend into crowds and environments without detection, a trick he relied on throughout 2022’s ‘The Batman’ whenever he needed to slip somewhere quietly or run surveillance. Its return in ‘The Batman Part II’ is not a huge surprise, and it looks like Batman will keep leaning on the disguise while he stalks the snowy streets of Gotham this time around. The road to release has not been smooth either. ‘The Batman Part II’ was originally supposed to open in October 2026 before Warner Bros. pushed it back, and the film has now landed on a February 18, 2028 release date, nearly six years after the first movie hit theaters. Production officially kicked off in June, with Reeves marking the occasion on social media alongside cinematographer Erik Messerschmidt.
