The occasion was bigger than a typical brand party. Tiffany & Co. set up in the French capital to launch a multi-year preservation initiative dedicated to the creative universe of legendary jewellery designer Jean Schlumberger, partnering with the Musée des Arts Décoratifs.

The two actresses were in very good company. Diane Kruger, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Greta Lee, Amanda Seyfried, Anya Taylor-Joy and Adria Arjona all attended, posing together in front of a backdrop reading “I am only a pencil,” a nod to Schlumberger himself.
Fellow ambassador Greta Lee attended alongside Seyfried and Huntington-Whiteley, while Cynthia Erivo paired a Khaite look with subtle Tiffany jewels. The lineup made it clear that Tiffany treated this evening as one of its most important moments of the fashion calendar.
The dinner honored a designer whose influence on the house remains enormous. Tiffany hired Schlumberger in 1956 under then-president Walter Hoving, giving him access to exceptional colored gemstones and the freedom to pursue ambitious designs.
The new partnership is ambitious in scale. Tiffany teamed up with the museum on a 4-year partnership to restore and digitize Schlumberger’s archive of more than 10,000 items, including 5,000 drawings and more than 5,000 documents, photographs, and personal papers.

The dinner accompanied the launch of “I Am Only a Pencil,” an immersive exhibition curated with the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. It displays some of his most emblematic pieces next to the drawings that inspired them, including the Hedges, Flowers, Jasmine and Tulips necklaces.
For Tiffany’s chief gemologist Victoria Reynolds, the show’s power comes from its focus on process, and she told WWD that “it really starts with his creative process.” Neither actress was a random addition to the guest list. The ‘Andor’ and ‘Hit Man’ actress has become one of the jeweler’s most visible ambassadors, and earlier this year Arjona starred in Tiffany’s Valentine’s Day campaign.
Seyfried’s connection runs just as deep. She attended the Blue Book Hidden Garden debut in New York in a micro minidress from Oscar de la Renta, pairing it with a statement necklace and matching earrings from that collection, and at the Toronto International Film Festival this month she again wore Tiffany pieces with her Givenchy look.
That Hidden Garden collection ties neatly back to this week’s tribute. It reinterpreted several of Schlumberger’s most iconic designs in new color combinations, showing how the house keeps drawing on his archive decades later.
