‘The Idol’ is an American drama television series created by Abel’ The Weeknd’ Tesfaye, Reza Fahim, and Sam Levinson. The show centers around Jocelyn, an aspiring pop idol portrayed by Lily-Rose Depp, and her bizarre connection with Tedros, a self-help guru and leader of a contemporary cult, played by Weeknd. The series features a supporting cast including Suzanna Son, Troye Sivan, Moses Sumney, Jane Adams, Dan Levy, Jennie Ruby Jane, Eli Roth, Rachel Sennott, Hari Nef, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Mike Dean, Ramsey, and Hank Azaria. 

Notably, it also serves as the final television appearance of Anne Heche, who passed away on August 11, 2022.

The first two episodes of ‘The Idol’ premiered on May 22, 2023, at the 76th Cannes Film Festival, where it received criticism from reviewers due to its explicit sexual content and themes. Now that ‘The Idol’ is being released on HBO, it’s time to go over the release schedule of the whole season. 

‘The Idol’ Release Date & Time 

Episode 5 of ‘The Idol’ will be released on Sunday, July 2, 2023. The title of the 5th episode of ‘The Idol’ is “Jocelyn Forever.” The episodes will be released weekly at the same time every Sunday. As for the time, across all timezones, the release schedule is as follows:

  • Pacific Time (PT) – 6:00 p.m
  • Central Time (CT) – 8:00 p.m
  • Eastern Time (ET) – 9:00 p.m
  • United Kingdom (GMT) – 02:00 a.m 
  • Central Europe (CET) – 03:00 a.m

How many episodes will ‘The Idol’ have? 

It’s expected that ‘The Idol’ series will have at least six episodes. With the first episode airing on June 4, we can expect the finale to drop on July 9, 2023, if the show doesn’t take any longer pauses. The following is the full release schedule for every expected episode of ‘The Idol.’
