The new season will have ten episodes, each running about an hour. The show is led by co-showrunners Ted Humphrey and Dailyn Rodriguez. Season 4 takes its story from Michael Connelly’s book The Law of Innocence, which is the sixth novel in his Lincoln Lawyer series.

According to Netflix’s press release, Mickey Haller’s life spins into chaos when he becomes the one accused of murder.

The season follows Mickey, played by Manuel García-Rulfo, as he tries to clear his own name. The press release explains the story as follows: “Mickey Haller (Manuel García-Rulfo) faces his toughest case yet as he and his team work tirelessly to prove his innocence in the murder of a former client, Sam Scales. To clear his name, they must unravel Sam’s final scam, forcing them to go head-to-head with the DA’s office, the FBI and ghosts from Mickey’s own past.”

The returning cast includes Neve Campbell, Becki Newton, Jazz Raycole, and Angus Sampson. Many other actors will also appear this season, including Krista Warner, Elliott Gould, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Marcus Henderson, Gigi Zumbado, Scott Lawrence, Constance Zimmer, Lana Parrilla, Sasha Alexander, Cobie Smulders, Kacey Montoya, Jason O’Mara, Jason Butler Harner, Javon Johnson, Kyle Richards, and Nancy Silverton.

The series was created for television by David E. Kelley, known for shows like Big Little Lies and Big Sky. Ted Humphrey, who worked on The Good Wife, helped develop the show for TV. Both of them serve as executive producers, along with Dailyn Rodriguez, Michael Connelly, Ross Fineman, Barry Jossen, Tana Jamieson, Matthew J. Lieberman, and Gladys Rodriguez. A+E Studios produces the series.
