The Lord of the Rings: Amazon Reveals Main Teaser Trailer For ‘The Rings of Power’
Today, Amazon Prime Video finally revealed the main teaser trailer and the official description for the most expensive TV series of all time — The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.
We live in a time in which TV shows are getting bigger and bigger budgets, almost as big, if not bigger than some blockbuster movies. HBO’s Game of Thrones was one of the first big-budget shows that created that domino effect after which producers started to invest more money into the content for small screens. Today, producers are practically racing who will spend more money on their biggest and most ambitious TV projects, particularly if they’re part of the fantasy genre.
After HBO’s Game of Thrones, and Netflix’s The Witcher, Amazon Prime decided to join that part with the TV adaptation of The Lord of the Rings, which is, no less, the most expensive TV series ever made. In 2017, Amazon made a five-season production commitment worth at least $1 billion. The series has already been officially renewed for the second season, and the series is set to premiere this September. Check the official main teaser and the official description down below:
“Amazon Prime Video’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power brings to screens for the very first time the heroic legends of the fabled Second Age of Middle-earth’s history. This epic drama is set thousands of years before the events of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, and will take viewers back to an era in which great powers were forged, kingdoms rose to glory and fell to ruin, unlikely heroes were tested, hope hung by the finest of threads, and the greatest villain that ever flowed from Tolkien’s pen threatened to cover all the world in darkness. Beginning in a time of relative peace, the series follows an ensemble cast of characters, both familiar and new, as they confront the long-feared re-emergence of evil to Middle-earth. From the darkest depths of the Misty Mountains, to the majestic forests of the elf-capital of Lindon, to the breathtaking island kingdom of Númenor, to the furthest reaches of the map, these kingdoms and characters will carve out legacies that live on long after they are gone.” — The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, official description
Developed by J. D. Payne and Patrick McKay, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is set to premiere on September 2, 2022, exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.
