‘The Mandalorian’ Actor Confirms There’s No Plans for Season 4

Jon Favreau, the creator of ‘The Mandalorian’ TV series, stated that the script for Season 4 was completed even before Season 3 ended, but now it appears that Season 4 might not happen. Season 3 concluded with Moff Gideon seemingly defeated and Mando officially adopting Grogu. However, for Season 4 to occur, a new threat would need to emerge.
Rumors began circulating after the resolution of the SAG-AFTRA and writer strikes, suggesting that Season 4 of ‘The Mandalorian’ might be canceled and transformed into a movie. These rumors gained traction when it was revealed that Pedro Pascal wouldn’t physically return due to other commitments. Instead, he would provide Mando’s voiceover. Recently, it was confirmed that a movie focusing on The Mandalorian & Grogu is in development, directed by Jon Favreau and produced by Kathleen Kennedy and Dave Filoni, set to start production in 2024.
Brendan Wayne, who plays the physical version of Din Djarin while Pedro Pascal provides the voice, mentioned on The Chatooine Show on YouTube that there are no plans for a season 4 of ‘The Mandalorian’ series. He noted that Lucasfilm and Disney are now concentrating on a feature film called ‘The Mandalorian & Grogu.’ Wayne’s comments raise questions about the potential for another season of the popular series.
No [Season 4]. I know that we’re doing a movie for sure, that’s what I know.
It was widely believed that Lucasfilm and Disney’s next Star Wars theatrical film would feature Daisy Ridley as Rey Skywalker. However, recent rumors suggest that a movie based on ‘The Mandalorian’ could take precedence. The upcoming lineup of Lucasfilm’s feature films will be led by ‘The Mandalorian & Grogu,’ directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, James Mangold, and Dave Filoni. Filoni is also involved in developing ‘Ahsoka’ Season 2 and other projects. Share your thoughts in the comments below if you have anything to add!
