It’s been over two years since Disney+’s Star Wars series The Mandalorian aired its second season. The series received critical acclaim from both critics and fans alike, with most of them calling it the best Star Wars project that was created during the Disney era of Star Wars. Today, Disney and Lucasfilm shared a new official poster and a featurette to promote the long-awaited third season, which is set to premiere on Disney+ on March 1, 2023.
Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Rick Famuyiwa, Peyton Reed, and other filmmakers are taking you on another journey of Pedro Pascal’s Din Djarin, aka The Mandalorian, and his companion, the fan-favorite Baby Yoda called Grogu. Watch the featurette down below:
The Mandalorian premiered as the launch series for Disney+ in November 2019. The second season premiered one year later, and after that, Disney+ started releasing some other Star Wars live-action shows while the third season was in development. Last year we watched The Book of Boba Fett, in which The Mandalorian and Grogu appeared as well, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Andor. We are finally getting the third season of The Mandalorian, and there are plenty more shows in production, such as Ashoka and Andor Season 2.
The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, Katee Sackhoff, Carl Weathers, Amy Sedaris, Emily Swallow, and Giancarlo Esposito. The directors of the eight-episode Season 3 include Rick Famuyiwa, Rachel Morrison, Lee Isaac Chung, Carl Weathers, Peter Ramsey, and Bryce Dallas Howard. Jon Favreau is the showrunner/head writer and serves as an executive producer along with Dave Filoni, Rick Famuyiwa, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson. Karen Gilchrist and Carrie Beck are co-executive producers.
This is the second big TV project this year for Pedro Pascal, considering we are also watching him in The Last of Us TV series on HBO.
