“The Morning Show” is back this fall, and from the looks of the new teaser, things are going to get even more intense. Season 4 of the Apple TV+ drama drops on September 17, and this time it’s all about artificial intelligence, deepfakes, and the blurred lines between truth and lies.

The show has always pulled from real-world events, and this season is no different. Past seasons tackled the pandemic and the January 6 insurrection. Now, AI takes the spotlight, raising some big questions about what’s real and who can be trusted. The official logline from Apple says the UBA and NBN networks have finished their merger, and now the team has to deal with “newfound responsibility, hidden motives and the elusive nature of truth in a polarized America.” It also warns of “deepfakes, conspiracy theories and corporate cover-ups.”

In the teaser, Jennifer Aniston’s Alex walks along a row of windows. Reese Witherspoon’s Bradley does the same. At first, you just see their reflections, but then things start to shift. Reflections of other characters begin to appear, and it’s clear there’s a lot going on behind the scenes.

Alex speaks in voiceover, saying, “We have to question everything that we see and we hear now more than ever.” Then we hear Bradley’s voice: “There was a cover-up. The truth always comes out. You know that.”

Chip, played by Mark Duplass, shows up in one of the windows. He says, “I need some dirt. Something I can trade?” Chip lost his job as Alex’s producer in Season 3, and now it looks like he’s trying to work his way back in, maybe at someone else’s expense.

Cory, played by Billy Crudup, appears next. He casually says, “It’s always nice when you can get someone to do your dirty work for you, right?” It’s not clear who he’s talking to, but it fits his usual mysterious energy. As head of UBA, he always has something brewing.

Jon Hamm returns as tech billionaire Paul. He tells someone, “You wanna run this place? You have to really, really want it.” Then Greta Lee’s Stella, who runs the news division, adds, “Do you know what I had to do to get here?”

A new character named Brodie, played by Boyd Holbrook, gives a warning of his own: “This place isn’t warm and fuzzy. It’s a snake pit.” Karen Pittman’s character Mia doesn’t hold back either. She says, “When you got this job, you said you were gonna do it differently, and here you are.”

We also get a glimpse of another new face, Marion Cotillard joins the show as Celine, described by Apple as a “savvy operator from a storied European family.” In the teaser, she says, “I like to know who’s an ally and who’s a liability.”

The clip ends with Alex and Bradley walking toward each other, both in the same frame. Then a man’s voice says, “It sounds like the drama at the network is juicier than the drama on the network.” On-screen text reads: Face your truth.

Season 4 will also bring back Nicole Beharie and Nestor Carbonell. New cast members include Jeremy Irons, Aaron Pierre, and William Jackson Harper.

Apple TV+ is the source of this teaser and information. The show is led by showrunner Charlotte Stoudt and director Mimi Leder. Executive producers include Michael Ellenberg, Lindsey Springer, Jennifer Aniston, Kristin Hahn, Reese Witherspoon, Lauren Neustadter, Zander Lehmann, and Micah Schraft.
