The Jurassic World trilogy is closing in on its end. The final chapter of the trilogy – Jurassic World: Dominion – will be released next summer! And while we wait for it, we got the official Prologue video which serves as the introduction to Dominion.
We all remember how the Jurassic Park franchise first emerged. Michael Crichton wrote the original novel that was published in 1990, and three years later, a legendary movie Jurassic Park was released, directed by Steven Spielberg. The movie was an absolute commercial blast, grossing over a billion dollars against a $63 million budget. Two sequels followed in 1997 and 2001.
In 2015, the franchise continued with Jurassic World, directed by Colin Trevorrow and starring Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. The movie grossed $1.6 billion worldwide. At the time of its release, it was the third highest-grossing movie of all time. The sequel Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, directed by J.A. Bayona, was released in 2018 and although it wasn’t as successful, it still grossed $1.3 billion worldwide.
Now, it’s time for Jurassic World: Endgame, I’m sorry, Dominion. Colin Trevorrow is back in director’s chair, and Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Daniella Pineda, Isabella Sermon, Justice Smith, Omar Sy, and BD Wong are all returning to reprise their respective roles from the previous Jurassic movies. They are joined by newcomers Mamoudou Athie, Scott Haze, Dichen Lachman, Campbell Scott, and DeWanda Wise.
Dominion is set to hit theaters on June 10, 2022, and no doubt, it will be one huge summer blockbuster. While we’re still waiting for the trailer, we can check the 5-minute prologue video that will open the doors to the movie. This 65-million year story continues next June.
