Prime Video’s hit series “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” has announced three new cast members joining for its upcoming third season. Andrew Richardson will be joining as a series regular, while Zubin Varla and Adam Young will appear in recurring roles.

Andrew Richardson is a British actor known for a strong background in stage performances.

He has also appeared in movies like “Daughter of the Bride,” “The Independent,” “Jack London’s Martin Eden,” and “Killer Among Us.” On TV, he’s been seen in “Extrapolations,” “Fantasy Island,” and “The Last O.G.”

Zubin Varla, also from the U.K., has contributed voice work to “The Rings of Power” before this new casting announcement. His other TV roles include parts in “Andor,” “Holby City,” “Deep State,” “Will,” and “Strike Back.” He has also acted in films such as “A Little Life” and participated in stage-to-screen productions like “Dara” and “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.”

Adam Young is a London-based actor who gained attention playing Jim-Bob in the 2021 horror film “Don’t Breathe 2.” His television work includes roles in “Masters of the Air,” “Romantic Getaway,” “The Witcher: Blood Origin,” and “EastEnders.”

The cast of “The Rings of Power” already includes names like Charlie Vickers, Morfydd Clark, Robert Aramayo, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Charles Edwards, Robert Strange, and Markella Kavenagh.

Season 3 of the series is produced by showrunners J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay, who also serve as executive producers alongside Lindsey Weber, Justin Doble, Kate Hazell, and director Charlotte Brändström. Co-producers include Ally O’Leary, Tim Keene, and Andrew Lee.

Set thousands of years before the events of “The Hobbit” and “The Lord of the Rings,” “The Rings of Power” follows the rise of Sauron as he creates the legendary Rings of Power, shaping the fate of Middle-earth.
