Drea de Matteo is most famous for playing Adriana La Cerva on The Sopranos, where she was the troubled girlfriend of mobster Christopher Moltisanti, a role that won her an Emmy. She also played Wendy Case, the strong-willed ex-wife of Jax Teller, in the hit show Sons of Anarchy.

Recently, she revealed in an interview that she was offered a role in a Marvel project but decided to turn it down to focus on her family, especially because her son would get upset whenever she had to leave for long filming trips.

The actress shared that she no longer felt attracted to the Hollywood lifestyle or its focus on material things, so she decided to stay closer to home and embrace a simpler way of living.

I was offered some Marvel thing, and I turned that down because my son was crying every time I’d go to Canada to just guest star on something. And I was like, ‘F*ck it. I’m not gonna do it. I have enough money to get us through the winter.’ I don’t want to be this Hermes-toting, Gucci shoe-wearing person. I just didn’t give a shit. I mean, I wear sweatpants and T-shirts all day.

We don’t know what role she was offered or if it was even for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but the actress said her career has struggled.

De Matteo explained that her career in Hollywood slowed down because of her anti-vaccine beliefs during the COVID-19 pandemic, which resulted in her being “blacklisted” without anyone talking to her directly.

To make money, she started a successful OnlyFans account, which she sees as a way to save her home and a strong statement about being independent and facing challenges.

I tried not to be outspoken. I tried to be under the radar. But I joined OnlyFans to save my f*cking house. And it was kind of, in a weird way, a political statement. Like a big ‘f*ck it.’ Get comfortable being uncomfortable. That was my statement

Despite these claims, the actress has two projects that are currently in post-production: Nonnas, a comedy directed by Stephen Chbosky, and That’s Amore, a musical romantic comedy written and directed by Nick Vallelonga, featuring John Travolta, Katherine Heigl, D.B. Sweeney, William Fichtner, and Christopher Walken.
