When it comes to red carpet fashion, Demi Moore has made a habit of never repeating herself. Over the past 2 years, she and stylist Brad Goreski have delivered some of awards season’s most talked-about looks, beginning with her campaign for ‘The Substance’, which earned Moore her first Academy Award nomination.

She returned to the Oscars this year as a presenter, wearing a custom Gucci gown with green, scale-like metallic detailing on the torso that transformed into dramatic black feathers. Goreski explained that Moore wanted something that felt like a work of art, dramatic yet super elegant.

The Academy Museum Gala has become one of Moore’s signature stages. At last year’s event, she wore a burgundy satin Prada gown with a constructed bodice and an asymmetrical silk georgette train, accented with Cartier high jewelry featuring diamonds and rubies.

That look landed her on multiple best-dressed lists. This year, she returned not only as a guest but as a member of the gala’s host committee, alongside names like Teyana Taylor, Kirsten Dunst, Greta Lee and Kate Hudson.

On October 17, Moore arrived at the sixth annual Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles in a showstopping two-tone gown. Variety shared a video of her arrival on the carpet as she swept in with characteristic confidence.

The design came from Standing Ground’s Fall/Winter 2026 Couture collection. It paired a sculpted black strapless bodice with a voluminous lilac taffeta skirt that spilled out into a sweeping train.

Moore accessorized with dazzling diamond drop earrings, sparkling bracelets, and statement rings. Her dark hair was swept into an elegant updo, keeping the focus on the gown’s striking silhouette and color blocking.

In a field full of sheer lace, feathers and sculpted couture, Moore’s look stood out for its bold contrast. Hello! Magazine described it as a showstopping entrance, highlighting the dramatic interplay between the dark bodice and soft pastel skirt.

Fans were quick to share their opinions online. Many praised the flowing taffeta and dramatic train as unforgettable, with some calling it one of her best looks of the year, while others still favored her feathered Gucci Oscars gown or last year’s wine-colored Prada.

The gala raises funds for the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, supporting its exhibitions, public screenings and educational initiatives. This year’s edition honored Charlize Theron with the Icon Award, Colman Domingo with the Vantage Award and John Carpenter with the Luminary Award.

Moore joined a guest list that included Taylor Swift, Janelle Monáe, Mikey Madison, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Laura Harrier. Swift was set to perform, capping off one of Hollywood’s most glamorous evenings.

Moore’s fashion moments have unfolded alongside a busy acting career. She stars as Cami in Taylor Sheridan’s Paramount+ drama ‘Landman’, playing the wife of a powerful Texas oil man and a friend of Billy Bob Thornton’s Tommy Norris.

The role followed her turn in Ryan Murphy’s ‘Feud: Capote vs. The Swans’ and her acclaimed performance in Coralie Fargeat’s ‘The Substance’. It’s the latest chapter in a career that stretches back to classics like ‘Ghost’, ‘A Few Good Men’ and ‘G.I. Jane’.

With every appearance, Moore proves she’s enjoying one of the most exciting stretches of her career, both on screen and on the red carpet. Her lilac couture moment was another reminder that she knows exactly how to make an entrance.
