We all know who Buzz Lightyear is. You don’t? “To infinity and beyond” guy? Well, now you know. Buzz is a famous toy from the Toy Story franchise, and in the spin-off movie Lightyear, we’ll meet the real Lightyear. Well, sort of. We’ll meet a hero who inspired the toy in the franchise.
We all know Buzz as the toy from the animated franchise, but even a mere toy has an origin. Even a toy has some story on how it was made. Well, Buzz was inspired by Lightyear, a Space Ranger, and now we’ll see what’s his story.
The official synopsis of the movie:
Lightyear is a sci-fi action-adventure and the definitive origin story of Buzz Lightyear (voice of Chris Evans) — the hero who inspired the toy. The film reveals how a young test pilot became the Space Ranger that we all know him to be today.
After Tim Allen voiced the toy Buzz Lightyear in four Toy Story animated features, Chris Evans is taking over to voice a real Lightyear in a spin-off.
Lightyear is set to be released on June 17, 2022.
