TikTok users have found another trend to play with, and this one leans hard into horror. A growing number of videos show people moving their arms or bodies in strange ways while old music plays in the background. Many of them start by saying “Vecna got me”. The clips are short, odd, and a little uncomfortable to watch, which is exactly why they are spreading so fast.

The trend is linked to the Netflix series Stranger Things. Fans took inspiration from a recent episode in season five, volume two. In that moment, a soft and cheerful song from the 1950s plays during a dark scene tied to Vecna, one of the show’s main villains. The song is Mr. Sandman by The Chordettes. One line from the song, “Mr Sandman, bring me a dream”, is now closely tied to the trend, even though the meaning feels twisted in this context.

On TikTok, creators use the song while acting as if Vecna’s powers are taking control of them. Arms bend, shoulders twist, and bodies move in ways that look unnatural. Some people can actually do these moves because they are very flexible. Others fake the effect using camera tricks, editing, or shadows. The goal is to make the movement look as strange as possible.

The mix of happy music and scary images is not new. According to Auralcrave, movies have used this contrast for decades. One well-known example is Halloween II from 1981, which used Mr Sandman during scenes connected to Michael Myers. TikTok creators have done similar things before, often pairing sweet songs with creepy visuals to create an uneasy feeling.

There are even guides online showing how to recreate the look safely. Some users help each other film the right angle to make the movement look more extreme. You do not need special tools, just creativity and a strong stomach.

The trend has pulled in both Stranger Things fans and casual viewers who enjoy strange internet moments. It shows once again how TikTok turns TV scenes and old music into something new and viral.
