The Avengers are known for their epic heroes, but some members were far from mighty, scraping by with underwhelming powers or fleeting roles. These characters joined the team with big dreams, only to fade into the background due to their lackluster abilities.

I’ve ranked the 15 weakest Avengers from Marvel comics, focusing on those with truly lackluster powers or minimal impact. These are the underdogs who couldn’t keep up with the team’s titans, listed from least to most feeble.

15. Rage

Marvel Comics

Elvin Haliday, aka Rage, gained super strength from chemical exposure as a teen. His raw power was decent, but his impulsiveness and lack of experience made him a liability.

Rage’s heart was bigger than his skill set. His brief Avengers stint left little impression against tougher foes.

14. D-Man

Marvel Comics

Demolition Man, Dennis Dunphy, had enhanced strength from shady experiments. His physicality was solid, but his lack of training and mental struggles kept him on the fringes.

D-Man’s loyalty was his strongest trait, not his combat ability. He often got lost in the team’s bigger battles.

13. Triathlon

Marvel Comics

Delroy Garrett, or Triathlon, had tripled human athleticism from the 3-D Man’s powers. It sounded cool but was underwhelming compared to the Avengers’ heavy hitters.

His short time on the team lacked memorable moments. Triathlon was outclassed in every way.

12. Silverclaw

Marvel Comics

Maria de Guadalupe Santiago, aka Silverclaw, could shapeshift into animal forms with minor mystic powers. Her abilities were unique but too weak for major missions.

Her inexperience made her a footnote in Avengers history. Silverclaw’s potential never took off.

11. Lionheart

Marvel Comics

Kelsey Leigh, known as Lionheart, wielded a magical sword granting basic superhuman traits. Her brief run was hampered by inexperience and personal conflicts.

Her powers were okay but lacked punch. Lionheart felt like a guest star, not a true Avenger.

10. Hellcat

Marvel Comics

Patsy Walker, aka Hellcat, had enhanced agility and minor abilities from her costume. Her enthusiasm was great, but her powers were no match for cosmic threats.

Hellcat’s charm outshone her actual impact. She’s more beloved for her personality than her strength.

9. Starfox

Marvel Comics

Eros of Titan, or Starfox, could manipulate emotions and had basic superhuman traits. His charm powers were quirky but useless in most Avengers battles.

His playboy vibe didn’t help his case. Starfox was more of a distraction than a hero.

8. Doctor Druid

Marvel Comics

Doctor Druid brought minor telepathy and mystical knowledge to the team. His skills were overshadowed by bigger mystics like Doctor Strange, making him seem second-rate.

His arrogance and poor decisions tanked his tenure. Druid was forgettable in the Avengers’ ranks.

7. Swordsman

Marvel Comics

Jacques Duquesne, the Swordsman, relied on expert swordplay and a high-tech blade. Against superpowered enemies, his human-level skills fell flat.

His wavering loyalty didn’t help. Swordsman’s heart outdid his actual contributions.

6. Two-Gun Kid

Marvel Comics

Matt Hawk, the Two-Gun Kid, was a time-displaced cowboy with sharp shooting skills. His pistols were no match for the Avengers’ modern, cosmic foes.

His old-west charm was fun but impractical. He was out of his depth in every fight.

5. Whizzer

Marvel Comics

Robert Frank, the Whizzer, had super speed in Marvel’s early days. His speed was slow by today’s standards, and his human durability left him vulnerable.

His outdated powers made him a relic. Whizzer’s brief Avengers role was barely noticeable.

4. Forgotten One

Marvel Comics

Gilgamesh, sometimes called Forgotten One, had basic superhuman strength as an Eternal. His minimal role and lack of standout powers made him a weak Avenger.

He was more of a benchwarmer than a hero. His time with the team was forgettable.

3. Red Wasp

Marvel Comics

Petra Laskov, the Red Wasp, had flight and bio-electric stings from genetic experiments. Her powers were limited, and her brief Avengers stint lacked impact.

She tried hard but couldn’t compete. Red Wasp’s role was more of a cameo than a legacy.

2. Jack of Hearts

Marvel Comics

Jack Hart, aka Jack of Hearts, had a cosmic-powered suit for energy blasts. His unstable energy source and constant need for containment made him a risky teammate.

His heart condition overshadowed his heroism. Jack’s potential never fully materialized.

1. Deathcry

Marvel Comics

Deathcry, a Shi’ar warrior, had minor strength and claws but lacked the power or presence for the Avengers. Her short, chaotic tenure was quickly forgotten.

Her skills were too basic for the team’s epic battles. Deathcry stands as the weakest Avenger of all.

Which obscure Avenger do you think got a raw deal, or did I skip one you’d call the weakest? Drop your thoughts in the comments!
