Them is an anthology horror series created by Little Marvin. The release date for Them Season 2 is currently unknown, but it is expected that the show will hit Amazon Prime sometime in 2023. Regarding the cast, Deborah Ayorinde is expected to appear in the series once more, this time taking over the main role of Detective Dawn Reeve. The series plot will focus on LAPD Detective assigned to a case that will force her to come face to face with malevolent and supernatural evil.

What is “Them” about? 

Them is a supernatural horror anthology series released in 2021 on Amazon Prime Video. Little Marvin created the series with input from Lena Waithe. 

The show takes place in the 1950s and follows the Emory family, a Black family who move from North Carolina to an all-white neighborhood in Los Angeles. The family is hoping to escape the deep-seated racism they faced in the South and start a new life, but they soon discover that the troubles they left behind are not so easily forgotten. The family begins to experience a series of horrifying events, including supernatural occurrences and violent attacks from their white neighbors, that threaten to destroy their dream of a better life.

As the Emory family fights to survive, they must confront the dark forces that are determined to drive them out of their new home.

 “Them” explores themes of racism, trauma, and the American dream and uses genre elements like horror, suspense, and fantasy to tell its story. The series has received critical acclaim for its intense and thought-provoking storytelling, as well as its excellent acting and production values. The series was mostly welcomed by positive commentary, praising its horrors themed as well as social commentary. The 10-episode first season was always expected to be followed by a second season. However, don’t expect to see the same setting and even characters, as the series was, from the start, imagined to be an anthology.

“Them” Season 2 plot details 

The series “Them” was always imagined to be anthology series, with each season following a different group of characters. The second season of the show titled Them: The Scare will follow Los Angeles Police Detective called Dawn Reeve, who is assigned to take on a new case. A case that left even the most experienced detectives completely and utterly shocked. Even though Dawn is famous for her level-headedness and incredibly sharp focus, when met with the strange new case, she becomes increasingly unnerved.

The matters are further complicated when her family is under attack by supernatural and malevolent forces, with her family member’s secrets reaching the light of day. The show will be set in 1991, more than 40 years after the events of the first season. We expect to see similar themes and a similarly tense and uncomfortable atmosphere.

Hollywood Reporter reports that Deborah Ayorinde will once again star in the series in the main role of Detective Dawn Reeve. She will be joined by a new cast of actors, most of them of which will recur during the whole second season.

“Them” Season 2 release date & Trailer 

The second season 2 is currently still in development, so the release date is not exactly known. We do know, however, that the show is expected to arrive on Amazon Prime Video sometime in 2023. Once again, Little Marvin will return as the showrunner. 

At the moment of writing this article, Them: The Scare is currently without an official trailer or photos. It seems that we will have to wait a little longer for any new info regarding season 2. We will update this post as soon as we have additional information.
