The film David is an animated biblical musical drama that follows the story of the young David from the Book of Samuel. The plot centers on David, a shepherd and poet from Bethlehem, who is destined to become the new King of Israel. Facing the threat of the Philistines and the shadow of the giant Goliath, David sets out to teach his people that true power comes not from a king, but from faith in God and the freedom to follow it.
The film features voices from Phil Wickham as David, Brandon Engman as young David, Miri Mesika as Nitzevet, Sloan Muldown as Zeruiah, Ashley Boettcher as teen Zeruiah, Mark Jacobson as Jonathan, Adam Michael Gold as King Saul, Asim Chaudhry as King Achish, Mick Wingert as Zaydel, Will de Renzy-Martin as Vaizatha, Lauren Daigle as Rebecca, and Kamran Nikhad as Goliath.
David is a continuation of the five-part television miniseries Young David, which told the story of the young Israelite hero’s journey from shepherd to warrior and leader. The movie is scheduled for release in theaters across the United States on December 19, through Angel Studios.
The final trailer for 'DAVID' dropped yesterday & with it, Goliath's first spoken line of dialogue, haha. It's still surreal to be a part of such a stunning looking film that everyone involved put all their heart into.
