Tiffany Pollard Says Nicki Minaj Let Down the Queer Community
Reality TV royalty Tiffany Pollard, widely known as “New York,” is speaking out against Nicki Minaj’s recent political shifts. During a conversation in West Hollywood this week, the “Flavor of Love” star shared their candid thoughts on Minaj’s alignment with the Trump administration.
Pollard, who recently came out as queer and non-binary, described the rapper’s new trajectory as a “slap in the face” to the LGBTQ+ fans who have long supported her career.
Minaj’s political transformation has become a major talking point in early 2026. After years of being a vocal critic of conservative policies, the “Starships” rapper has pivoted to a pro-MAGA stance.
In December 2025, she made a surprise appearance at a Turning Point USA event in Phoenix alongside Erika Kirk, the widow of the late conservative activist Charlie Kirk. During a conversation about faith and leadership, Minaj drew both laughter and shock when she referred to Vice President J.D. Vance as an assassin while trying to praise him as a role model.
Pollard noted that while the “Barbz” community still respects Minaj’s musical legacy, her recent rhetoric has caused a deep rift. Pollard suggested that the rapper has lost her way and recommended she seek a new perspective. Specifically, Pollard jokingly advised Minaj to connect with rock legend Bruce Springsteen, who has been a fierce critic of the administration’s second term.
Springsteen has made headlines throughout late 2025 and 2026 for his outspoken opposition to President Trump, frequently pausing his concerts to label the current government as “corrupt” and “treasonous.”
Pollard suggested that spending time with “The Boss” might help Minaj see a different side of the political landscape. Hop on Springsteen’s lap and let him show her the light, Pollard quipped, clarifying that the suggestion was meant in a purely platonic, guiding sense.
Tiffany Pollard’s own life has been just as busy. After coming out as non-binary in October 2025, they explained that they resonate with the label because they feel both “super feminine” and “masculine” at the same time. Shoving me back in the closet is never going to be an option, they told PinkNews, emphasizing their commitment to being a vocal advocate for the queer community.
On the professional front, Pollard is currently celebrating the success of their latest reality competition series, Slayers: Wheel of Fate. The show, which premiered in late 2025 on OUTtv, features ten queer contestants competing in a mysterious castle to avoid being “eaten by a dragon” and to win a $25,000 prize. Pollard serves as both the host and executive producer, a role they’ve embraced as they continue to dominate the “Head B***h In Charge” brand.
While Minaj has doubled down on her conservative views, even announcing the cancellation of her upcoming March 2026 album to focus on other ventures, Pollard remains hopeful for a change of heart. For now, the “HBIC” is focused on their own path, recently appearing in season two of House of Villains and continuing to expand their presence in the reality TV world.
Minaj’s decision to back the Trump-Vance agenda has undoubtedly changed the dynamic between her and her most loyal fanbases. Whether she will take Pollard’s advice and look toward more progressive voices like Springsteen remains to be seen.
