Tig Notaro has shared that she and Zack Snyder are working together again, and this time the project is something completely different.

Notaro talked about it during her appearance on the Dec. 1 episode of the podcast “On With Kara Swisher,” where she also looked back on her unexpected experience with Snyder’s 2021 movie “Army of the Dead.”

Notaro said that joining the film, where she replaced comedian Chris D’Elia, led to a surprise reaction from viewers. She explained that after the movie came out, people suddenly couldn’t stop talking about her appearance.

“I go viral for being sexy in this film,” she said. She added that she never expected that kind of attention and that her phone kept blowing up. Notaro said she eventually called Snyder to tell him about it because she had people of all orientations sending her messages. “I’m hearing it from straight men, gay men, gay women and straight women that they think I’m hot in this movie,” she said.

That reaction gave her an idea for a new movie, and Snyder was immediately interested. She remembered telling him, “What if we just went for it and everyone’s a hot lesbian?” According to Notaro, Snyder loved the idea right away.

She said they are now developing the script together, even joking about how she pitched it to him. She described the poster she imagined, saying it would simply feature the movie’s title and then the words “Hot Lesbian Action.”

Notaro also revealed that they do have a working title. As she put it, “As of now, the movie is called ‘Deviants,’ and takes place back in some old-timey days, like some closeted deviants.” She said the film is still early in development, but both she and Snyder are excited about where it could go.
