Timothée Chalamet received a massive welcome in Paris this week for the premiere of his new movie, Marty Supreme. Looking like a classic star in a brown Givenchy suit and sunglasses, he met a huge crowd at the famous Le Grand Rex theater. Even though the energy was high, Chalamet took a moment to be honest with his fans about how much it cost them to be there.

He playfully called out the theater for charging as much as €50 for some of the reserved seats. He told the audience that he knew they were charged a lot and wanted them to know it had nothing to do with me. He even joked that he wasn’t getting any of that extra money and really would have liked the whole event to be free for everyone.

Chalamet, who also helped produce the film, spent much of the night speaking French to honor the local culture. He mentioned that there is a big cinema culture in France and that he truly loves the people who support movies there. He called Marty Supreme a miracle movie and seemed very proud to bring it to a place that cares so much about art.

The director of the film, Josh Safdie, also spoke about how much he believed in the young actor. Safdie said he first met Chalamet years ago and saw a kid who had a vision for himself.

He described a young man who was present in the room but not where he wanted to be yet. He felt that Chalamet was always meant to be at the center of the world, and this role was written specifically for him.

As of this year, Timothée Chalamet has had the most successful year of his entire career. His performance in Marty Supreme has already won him a Golden Globe for Best Actor and earned him an Oscar nomination as well. The movie is a huge hit for A24 and is actually on track to become their highest-grossing film ever in North America.

He is also rumored to be working on a new project called High Side with director James Mangold, which would see him playing a motocross racer. Between his awards season run and his massive blockbusters, he is officially the biggest leading man of his generation. He even opened a special pop-up shop in Paris this week to sell exclusive movie merchandise to his most dedicated fans.

Do you think Timothée Chalamet will finally take home the Best Actor trophy at the Oscars this year for his wild performance in Marty Supreme? Share your thoughts in the comments.
