He said he’s happy to be playing Draco again, but this time it’s going to feel different. “Stepping into old shoes,” Felton said, “but in a new light.”

In The Cursed Child, Draco isn’t the school bully fans remember from the films. He’s more grown up now, and his character has changed a lot. The play shows him as a man still dealing with the weight of his family’s past, but now trying to do better and be there for his son, Scorpius. That father-son relationship is a big part of the story.
Draco’s son becomes close friends with Albus, the son of Harry Potter, and the friendship surprises both sides. It’s not always easy, though. Scorpius is bullied and even has to deal with a wild rumor that he might be Voldemort’s child.
Draco, wanting to protect his son, ends up confronting Harry out of worry. He wants to make sure his son doesn’t suffer more because of their past.
Felton also spoke to Variety about the controversy surrounding J.K. Rowling and her comments on social media.
When asked if it has affected him, he didn’t say much. “I’m not really that attuned to it,” he said. “The only thing I always remind myself is that I’ve been lucky enough to travel the world — here I am in New York — and I have not seen anything bring the world together more than ‘Potter.’ She’s responsible for that, so I’m incredibly grateful.”

Between stepping back into Draco’s shoes and sharing his thoughts on the legacy of the series, it’s clear Felton still feels connected to the wizarding world, even if that world looks a little different now.
