Tom Hiddleston Hints at Monumental Role in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’
Tom Hiddleston has dropped hints about his role in the upcoming film Avengers: Doomsday, giving fans a glimpse of what to expect from the MCU’s next big chapter.
Speaking to GQ, Hiddleston said of the movie, “My contribution has been contributed. It is monumental. The centre of the story is absolutely brilliant, and was so surprising when I read it. It just has never been done before.”
The actor recently wrapped filming for the movie, picking up from where Loki left off at the end of season two of the Loki TV series. In that series, Loki discovered a “glorious purpose” while navigating the collapse of the Temporal Loom and the destruction of the TVA.
After learning to control his Time Slipping ability, he tried to save the Loom and protect the Sacred Timeline, ultimately choosing to destroy it and weave the multiverse branches himself. By the end, Loki was seated on a new throne at the Citadel at the End of Time, determined to safeguard the multiverse in his own way.

Avengers: Doomsday is now scheduled to hit theaters in the United States on December 18, 2026, including an IMAX release. The film had previously been delayed several times, initially set for May 2, then pushed to May 1, 2026, in part due to the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike.
The latest delay was meant to give the production team more time to complete the film. Avengers: Doomsday will be part of Phase Six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
With Hiddleston promising a central and surprising role, fans are eager to see how Loki will influence the story and interact with the rest of the Avengers. His comments suggest that his character could play a pivotal role in shaping the multiverse moving forward.
